This was to be a celebration and high-touch engagement for 100 of Great Eastern’s most valued clients and partners. It was clear the event needed to be flawless—not just in the wine and food, but across every single touchpoint, from the AV to the furnishings.

Great Eastern partnered with a local events company, and tasked us with curating this signature client evening. They needed an F&B partner they could truly rely on, especially as wine was a new, high-stakes element in their event equation. The stage was set for our largest, most complex execution yet.

The Core Challenge

The challenge was layered, demanding assurance on two critical fronts.

For Great Eastern, the goal was effortless networking—the food and beverage experience had to be so perfect, so seamless, that they could dedicate their full focus to their valued clients. For our event management partner, the pressure lay in finding a wine and F&B specialist who could provide a holistic, trustworthy experience encompassing food, wine, and professional service—a partner they had not yet secured.

The event demanded more than catering; it demanded an assured, all-hands-on-deck operational partner who would rise to the occasion of scale.

  • Customisation at Scale: This was one of our most customised events. We curated a complete sensory experience: an exclusively imported Australian wine selection paired perfectly with six different types of premium canapés, delivered with customised pairing cards.
  • The Signature Detail: When Great Eastern requested a customised label for over 100 bottles—initially intended as door gifts—we ensured every bottle was custom-labelled and individually signed by our winemaker. Even when the client requested a last-minute change away from the custom labels, we responded with confidence, re-printing and re-pasting new labels without a moment of stress for our partner.
  • Assured Service: To match the high standards, we deployed a team of 12 well-trained staff. We even invested in special training ahead of the event on our own dime, ensuring our team could seamlessly serve wines, plate canapés, and even fulfil spontaneous requests for soft drinks.
  • Partnership Beyond Profit: We even extended the simplicity philosophy to our partner, introducing Great Eastern’s event’s partner to our trusted furniture rental contacts. We bypassed the opportunity to mark up costs, choosing instead to pass on cost savings and focus on what we do best: the elevated wine experience.

On the day, the sheer scale of the event required an all-hands-on-deck operation, but the stress was entirely absorbed by our team. We arrived significantly early , organising our teams into three defined, coordinated groups—prep, drink service, and food service—ensuring nothing was left to chance.

The atmosphere began with the reserved professionalism of a corporate event. But as the drinks poured and the premium canapés were introduced, the room’s energy began its beautiful shift. The hum of professional exchange gave way to genuine compliments about the food and wine pairings. Guests began meaningfully connecting, exchanging cards, and sharing a moment of delicious, shared discovery. The meticulous preparation dissolved the friction, allowing the human element to shine through.
