The Opening Scene
In the world of technology, a product launch or client sharing session often relies on clarity and presentation. For Salesforce, the goal was to host a crucial three-hour session—a fireside chat and product deep-dive for 20 esteemed clients in the education sector. Nija, the event lead, reached out with an urgent request: she needed a curated corporate event that would seamlessly integrate their professional agenda.
Crucially, the initial spark of trust came from an external referral—a colleague of Nija’s who had yet to finalise his own event with us. This spoke volumes, affirming the confidence and reputation we build even before the first booking is confirmed.
The Core Challenge
The challenge was not the logistics, but the rhythm of the engagement. Three hours of corporate content, no matter how valuable, risks becoming rigid or exhausting. Salesforce needed a strategic moment of reprieve—a short, impactful 15-minute activity that would break the corporate ice, ensuring:
- High RSVP rates for the session.
- Guests were loosened up to ask questions during the fireside chat.
- The overall three-hour event felt connected, not fragmented.
All of this was requested with a mere ten-day window for planning and execution. The unspoken fear was that a dry session would lead to early departures and missed sales opportunities.
The Unspoken Need
The deep, Unspoken Need was for a flexible, trustworthy co-architect who understood they were not the focus, but the seamless medium through which Nija and her team’s goals would flow. They needed a partner capable of moving with speed, adapting to last-minute changes, and providing the full suite of presentation needs—private room, long table, AV setup, screen—alongside the wine and cheese service, all without a single moment of friction.
Our Curated Response
We embraced the tight timeline and the specific needs of the session, treating the constraint as the intentional design. Within ten days, we transformed their vision into an assured reality:
- Integrated Logistics: We secured our private cellar—complete with the necessary AV and long table—and prepared a thoughtfully curated pairing of three premium cheeses, served with olives, nuts, grapes, and crackers, alongside three types of our exclusively imported wines.
- Assured Flexibility: Even in the lead-up, when changes and payment requests (like credit card links) arose, we handled them with elegant simplicity, immediately updating the invoice and absorbing the administrative burden.
- Graceful Adaptability: Two days before the event, when the guest count rose from 15 to 20, we waived our standard change fees and simply charged the extra per-head cost. When even more guests arrived on the day, we found extra chairs and waived the unexpected headcount charge completely, prioritising the seamless experience above all else. This quiet demonstration of trust was our signature.
The Evening Unfolds
The session began with the expected professionalism; guests were initially quiet, listening attentively to the product sharing.
Then, the 15-minute tasting began.
It was the perfect, gentle catalyst. The wine not only loosened up the atmosphere, but guests began meaningfully connecting with the Salesforce team and with each other. The true measure of its success was the outcome: guests started asking crucial sales questions the team had hoped for, and they lingered long after the three-hour session concluded, chatting and connecting with the sales team.
The event’s objective was not just accomplished; it was exceeded.
The Lasting Impression
The success was undeniable. The astonishing turnout, the organic connection spurred by the wine, and the ultimate achievement of the corporate goal proved the strategic power of intentional experience design.
The guests loved it, and the Salesforce team quickly began planning more events with us. This experience served as a powerful reminder: the flexible purpose of our wine experiences can effectively break up rigid corporate sharings and help a client exceed the RSVP goals for their target audience.
A Philosophy Shared
This story affirms a vital truth for us: Events change, and we are flexible because we don’t fear complexity. Our wine tasting is not only designed for fun moments; it doubles as a powerful corporate tool, a short, effective interlude that can be used to unlock connection, engagement, and ultimately, your highest professional purpose.
